HBO’s other live-action Game of Thrones prequels in various stages of development include 10,000 Ships, a series about the warrior queen Nymeria with showrunner Amanda Segel, 9 Voyages (a.k.a. Harington, who was twice nominated for an Emmy for his performance on Game of Thrones, is reportedly already attached to return to the role if the project proceeds. In the series finale, Snow, previously thought to be the bastard son of Ned Stark before realising that he could be an heir to the iron throne, was exiled from Westeros to the Night’s Watch, where he was last seen heading North of the Wall with the Wildlings. While House of the Dragon is set before the events of Game of Thrones, it was recently announced that a spin-off series focused on Kit Harington’s fan-favourite character Jon Snow is in early development at HBO.Īccording to The Hollywood Reporter, the spin-off is described as a sequel series and would take place after the events of Game of Thrones, which ended in 2019, and would chronicle the post-Westeros story of Jon Snow. Martin book, Fire & Blood, and covers the events leading up to the Targaryen civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons. Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the new show focuses in on the House Targaryen and conflict over who should be the successor to the throne.
The spin-off is described as a prequel series that takes place before the events of Game of Thrones, which ended in 2019. When asked if there were too many of his own sex scenes, Smith said: “Yeah – slightly too much, if you ask me.” House of the Dragon “And I actually think it’s your job to represent the books truthfully and honestly, as they were written,” the actor added. “And they’re like, ‘Yeah, we do.’ I guess you have to ask yourself: ‘What are you doing? Are you representing the books, or are you diluting the books to represent the time?’ “You do find yourself asking, ‘Do we need another sex scene?’” Smith said.
